Nature-identical (bioidentical) hormone replacement therapy according to Rimkus®
Modern medicine has not yet come up with a really good solution with its classic hormone replacement therapy in the form of synthetic hormone analogues. Neither can one be satisfied with the therapeutic successes, nor can one continue to tolerate the considerable potential for side effects and the danger of late effects. Thus, it repeatedly causes negative headlines: Both thromboses in connection with the pill and the increase in cardiovascular diseases and certain tumour diseases with hormone replacement therapy in peri- and post-menopause are being discussed.
But we want to grow older and also feel good and efficient.
One possibility is the use of body identical (bioidentical or nature identical) hormones, which correspond in their structural formula to the body’s own hormones. These have already undergone a „test phase“ of several million years through evolution. The highest hormone levels are measured in adolescence – but the lowest rate of cancer and other diseases. One can therefore conclude that „high“ hormone levels are not harmful in themselves, but rather have a health-promoting and protective effect. As an example, diseases caused or contributed to by reduced hormone levels include osteoporosis, insomnia, depression, anxiety disorders, dementia, aggravation of a metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, cardiac arrhythmia, high blood pressure, etc.
Of course, other factors also play a role in the aging process, such as a functioning immune system, which ensures that wandering tumor cells are captured and rendered harmless. But negative stress caused by hormone deficiency leads to a weakening of the immune system and thus to a poorer defence.
The nature-identical hormone replacement therapy is an absolutely individual therapy. After determination and regular monitoring of the hormones in the blood, the hormones progesterone, estradiol and, if necessary, testosterone are administered as required. These hormones are extracted from diosgenin (present in special plants, such as the yam root). The hormones are swallowed as capsules (with e.g. olive oil as a carrier substance), so that they can be absorbed directly from the intestine via the lymphatic system into the blood, bypassing the liver.
Through the discovery of nature-identical hormone therapy, the hoped-for efficacy and freedom from side effects, which is a prerequisite for long-term application, is now finally apparent.
How does the therapy work?
In my experience, patients – both women and men – who complain of symptoms such as anxiety, panic attacks, impaired memory, decreasing performance, lack of drive, depressive mood, depression, bone pain, pain in the limbs, sexual listlessness, insomnia, hair loss, weight gain but also high blood pressure and cardiac arrhythmia, will benefit from nature-identical hormone substitution.
In a detailed initial consultation, the medical history (medical history, current complaints) is taken, followed by an evaluation sheet to grade the individual complaints. To determine the hormonal starting position, a blood sample is taken (in premenopausal women +/-3 days to the 21st day of the cycle) and a physical examination is performed. If necessary, further examinations such as ultrasound, BIA measurement must be carried out.
An initial gynaecological or urological examination (not older than three months) is mandatory before the start of therapy, and thereafter annually. Therapy monitoring with blood sampling is carried out every three months until a stable setting is reached, after which the intervals can be extended.
The costs for this therapy are not yet covered by health insurance companies. There are exceptional cases in which the private health insurance companies partially reimburse. It is invoiced according to the GOÄ.
